NEW PROJECTS

197-unit apartment complex chooses CuraFlo
Bay Harbour Apartments in Baytown, Texas has chosen CuraFlo to install its proprietary Engineered Flow Lining System throughout all ten of its two-story buildings. By lining the hot and cold water supply piping for each building, all 197 units can rest assured that their pipes are protected from leaks and corrosion for years to come with minimal disruption. Skip Wolfe, CuraFlo's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, further explains Bay Harbour's decision:
"Bay Harbour's management team considered several options, but in the end, they appreciated the fact that CuraFlo's epoxy lining is less disruptive to implement than traditional repiping methods. Residents will not be displaced during installation, and their water service will not be disrupted. Also, CuraFlo's epoxy lining is a long-lasting solution that yields improved water flow and quality, and protects against future leaks and corrosion."

MEET THE CURAFLO TEAM

Joe Conti, CuraFlo Project Manager

Have you always been involved in construction?
"By virtue of my father being in construction and owning his own business, I have always been involved in construction. My father's philosophy was to understand not just one trade but a variety of trades. Therefore, since the age of 12, I began visiting jobsites and gaining knowledge within the construction industry which has served me well over the years."
As a project manager, what is the best aspect of your job?
"Truly it's working with the people within the CuraFlo organization both in the field and in the office. Success is measured not only in dollars, but also by the progress of the company and the growth and development of our people."
What is the most unusual occurrence you have seen on the job?
"Once, while on a job, the crew and I were continually hearing a cat meowing. Apparently, a kitten had managed to crawl into a wall pocket via the balloon framing and had trapped himself inside the wall. We obviously had to open the wall to remove the kitten. All ended well, the kitten found a new home with the electrician."
What's great about epoxy lining?
"Having been in the construction field all my life, I have seen the large amounts of demolition that repiping involves as well as the disruption to the tenants. The epoxy lining process not only eliminates a large portion of wall and ceiling repair and restoration, but is also a very tenant-friendly process."
What is your favorite tool and why?
"The Pro-Press is my current favorite piece of technology used in the field. The Pro-Press allows us to increase our speed and efficiency on the job and because soldering is not needed, it adds to the safety of the tenants."
