Proprietary Epoxy Now Recognized by Two of Nation’s Largest Independent Testing Laboratories

BEACHWOOD, OHIO – CuraFlo®, a leading provider of pipe restoration services for multi-tenant buildings and other commercial and institutional structures, has received official certification for CuraPoxy® LS, the newest epoxy in the proprietary CuraPoxy family of internal epoxy pipe coatings, from NSF International.

NSF provides public health and safety risk management solutions to companies, governments and consumers globally by certifying products and writing standards for food, water and consumer goods. CuraFlo received five-hour forced cure, immediate return to service NSF certification for its CuraPoxy LS5 epoxy and 24-hour room temperature cure for CuraPoxy LS, recognizing that these products conform to the requirements of ANSI/NSF Standard 61, the government’s safety standard for safe drinking water.

CuraPoxy LS is already certified by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) to meet ANSI/NSF Standard 61 for commercial hot water, the highest standard established for potable water. In fact, CuraFlo’s CuraPoxy LS, like all other epoxies in the CuraFlo family of internal epoxy pipe coatings, has been certified by IAPMO to be compliant with the applicable sections of the Uniform Plumbing Code® and the International Plumbing Code®.

CuraPoxy LS is a proprietary epoxy specially formulated to coat the inside of pipes and to prevent corrosion and the interaction of the water with the interior pipe surfaces. It is designed for longer pipe runs found in high-rise buildings, large institutional structures and long mains. CuraPoxy LS is used as part of CuraFlo’s proprietary Engineered Flow Lining System™, which renews deteriorating water pipes in commercial and institutional buildings such as multi-tenant apartment complexes, universities and hospitals, and even in residential homes. Additionally, CuraFlo provides epoxies specially formulated for a variety of other applications, including large diameter pipes, fire suppression systems, and HVAC systems.

All CuraPoxy internal epoxy pipe coatings are manufactured in the industry’s only ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturing facility. CuraFlo manufactures its epoxies using a patent-pending purification process which results in the safest epoxies. It is a solvent-free, 100% solids, high-build coating that allows fast restoration of water service and is formulated for broad-range corrosion protection. Additional benefits include:

  • Safe to use in hot and cold potable water systems;
  • Approved for use in pipes where the water temperature can reach up to 180°F (Commercial Hot rating);
  • Features industry-leading five-hour cure times, which means, if necessary, water service can be returned the same day.

“At CuraFlo, each of our water infrastructure products and processes is designed with the industry’s highest level of engineering and manufacturing expertise. Certification of CuraPoxy LS by IAPMO, and now NSF, strongly underscores this,” said Jack Prause, President of CuraFlo.

In addition to a full array of infrastructure rehabilitation services, CuraFlo’s epoxy pipe lining solutions are widely renowned for alleviating problems with deteriorating pipes and plumbing systems. In many instances, this proves a highly effective alternative to pipe replacement. In fact, pipes restored with CuraFlo’s epoxy lining can gain an additional service life of 50 years or more.
