CURAFLO® RECEIVES LISTING FROM THE INTERNATIONAL CODE COUNCIL®’S EVALUATION SERVICE
FOR CURAFLO ENGINEERED FLOW LINING SYSTEM®
Proprietary Pipe Restoration System Proven to Meet the Industry’s Most Stringent Code Requirements and Applicable Standards

BEACHWOOD, OHIO – CuraFlo®, a leading provider of pipe restoration services for multi-tenant buildings and other commercial and institutional structures, is pleased to announce that its proprietary CuraFlo Engineered Flow Lining System® has received a listing (PMG #1057) from the International Code Council®’s ICC Evaluation Service, LLC (ICC-ES) for Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas (PMG). This ICC-ES PMG listing verifies that the CuraFlo Engineered Flow Lining System and its patent-pending epoxies, CuraPoxy® and CuraPoxy LS meet the requirements of the country’s leading plumbing and mechanical codes and applicable standards.

     Products listed under the ICC-ES PMG program undergo evaluation based on requirements in all relevant codes. The CuraFlo Engineered Flow Lining System, as well as CuraPoxy and CuraPoxy LS epoxies, met the code requirements for the International Plumbing Code® (IPC), the International Residential Code® (IRC), and the Uniform Plumbing Code® (UPC). As part of its testing process, ICC-ES thoroughly examined CuraFlo’s product information, test reports, calculations, quality control methods and other factors in order to ensure that the CuraFlo Engineered Flow Lining System, as well as the CuraPoxy and CuraPoxy LS epoxies used in CuraFlo’s epoxy lining process, are code-compliant.

     Additionally, the ICC-ES PMG listing recognizes the CuraFlo Engineered Flow Lining System’s compliance with the following standards:

  • LC1008, Listing Criteria for Internal Epoxy Barrier Pipe Coating Material for Water Supply Systems

  • IAPMO IGC 189, Internal Pipe Epoxy Barrier Coating Material for Application in Pressurized (Closed) Water Piping Systems

  • ASTM D 4541, Standard Test Method for Pull-off Strength of Coatings Using Portable Adhesion Testers;

  • NSF 61, Section 5, Drinking Water System Components – Health Effects;\

  • AWWA C210, Liquid-Epoxy Coating System for the Interior and Exterior of Steel Water Pipe Lines.

     CuraFlo’s Engineered Flow Lining System utilizes innovative technologies and time-tested proprietary processes to restore copper, galvanized steel, lead, and cast iron pipes. This process restores pipes from the inside by lining them with an odorless, tasteless and completely safe epoxy, creating a seamless, sanitary and permanent protective barrier on the surface of the pipes. CuraFlo’s process is designed to minimize demolition and virtually eliminate tenant disruption – all at a fraction of the time and cost of repiping.

     This new listing underscores CuraFlo’s technical leadership in the industry. CuraFlo offers the broadest suite of patent-pending and certified epoxy coatings to fit every conceivable need for pipe restoration, including fast return to service, fire suppression, long lengths of pipe, and high-water temperature applications. Additionally, CuraFlo is the only epoxy lining company that manufactures all of its internal pipe epoxy coatings in its own ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturing facility. This ensures the highest product quality and results in epoxy coatings that meet or exceed the stringent purity requirements on products intended for contact with drinking water. They are solvent-free, 100% solid, high-build coatings that allow for fast restoration of water service and are formulated for broad-range corrosion protection. Additional benefits include:

  • Safe to use in hot and cold potable water systems;

  • Approved for use in pipes where the water temperature can reach up to 180°F (Commercial Hot rating);

  • Industry-leading five-hour cure times, which means, if necessary, water service can be returned the same day.

     “Plumbing industry licensing and oversight bodies, architects, engineers, contractors and building officials throughout the United States rely on ICC-ES PMG listings as pre-eminent third-party verifications of product and process quality under the country’s leading plumbing and mechanical code bodies and applicable standards,” said Jack Prause, President of CuraFlo. “We are extremely pleased that the CuraFlo Engineered Flow Lining System and its component epoxies are now officially recognized under the ICC’s rigorous program. This ICC-ES PMG listing is another example of CuraFlo’s mission to design each of our water infrastructure rehabilitation products and processes with the industry’s highest level of engineering and manufacturing expertise.”

     The ICC-ES PMG program is designed to build upon ICC-ES’s nearly 80 years of experience in evaluating building products for code compliance. Accredited by the American National Standards Institute, the program operates under ISO/IEC Guide 65, “General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification Systems.”

     In addition to a full array of infrastructure rehabilitation services, CuraFlo’s epoxy pipe lining solutions are widely renowned for alleviating problems with deteriorating pipes and plumbing systems. In many instances, this proves a highly effective alternative to pipe replacement. In fact, pipes restored with CuraFlo’s epoxy lining can gain an additional service life of 40 to 60 years.
