PEX Repipe
Cross-linked polyethylene, or PEX plumbing systems have been in use since the 1960’s in various parts of the world. Ideally suited for potable water plumbing systems, PEX’s flexibility makes installation easier and it is able to withstand both high and low temperature applications, and resist corrosive attack common in the plumbing environment. Recent certification of a new fire sealant and a relaxation of some fire codes have allowed for increased use of PEX plumbing with hybrid systems in multi-tenant buildings. However, due to size and code restrictions, some key areas are still plumbed with metal plumbing (often copper). For these reasons, you may want to consider additional CuraFlo Solution options.

Copper Repipe
Copper repiping is a process that involves removal of existing pipes in a building and replacement with new copper pipes and fittings. Contracts for such projects often parallel the renovation or upgrading of wall coverings, flooring and other finishes, as the process includes gaining access to the pipes for replacement making restoration necessary.

Ductile Iron
Ductile iron pipe is used inside buildings in lieu of copper pipe, beyond 4" in diameter. An advantage to ductile iron is the ability to move more water through the pipe, which enables the downsizing of pipe compared to copper. Ductile pipe is also much less in cost compared to copper at today's prices, but does involve more physical work to install.
